Glycolic acid is used to treat sun damaged skin, fine lines, uneven blotchy pigmentation, acneic problematic skin. It causes the top layer of your skin to exfoliate over a period of a few days. There is minimal downtime. There will be some redness, possibly some minor flaking and scabbing, but you should be able to continue with your normal daily activities without a problem. It is very important to avoid exposure to the sun after a peel. A sunblock should always be used, your skin will be very sensitive to the sun after a peel. It is also extremely important not to pick or scratch at any scabbing or flaking after your peel !
